Past Pupils

Slaney Cox

We were incredibly proud last Friday as part of our College Awareness Week to welcome back a past pupil, Slaney Cox who spoke to our 6th Class about her experience in Trinity College.
Slaney left Scoil Cholmcille in 2006 and went to Cabinteely C.S.  After leaving school she got a job, had her daughter Lucy and decided to go back to college as an adult.
Through her hard work & dedication in her chosen course of nursing, she was awarded a foundation scholarship in 2019.
This highly prestigious award has a long standing history in Trinity College and requires students to display a breadth of knowledge beyond their standard coursework. Previous recipients of this award have been past President, Mary Robinson, creator of Dracula, Bram Stoker & Nobel prize winner, Seamus Heaney.  We are very proud to include our past pupil, Slaney in such exalted company.  She delivered a hugely inspiring talk to our sixth class students hopefully prompting some to follow in her footsteps.  We wish Slaney the very best as she continues her studies and her future career.

St Laurence's Girls Soccer

We are very proud of the achievement of our past pupils. This year St Laurence College had a tremendous year in Girls' soccer. They won Leinster and All Ireland titles at u-16 and u-17 level. Nine of the St. Laurence College team are past pupils of Scoil Cholmcille. They are :

Molly Murphy, Bobby Downer, Maya Stubbs, Courtney Maguire, Clara Mulligan, Katie Doyle, Kim Pel, Lauren Dineen and Lana Doyle.

Courtney Maguire has represented Ireland at u-15 and U-16 levels at international tournaments this year which is a tremendous honour.

The girls came back to Scoil Cholmcille on Friday 26th May with their teacher , Mr. Rowe and fellow mentor John Mulligan and were greeted by all the children at an assembly in the hall. It was a privilege to invite the girls back. They are a credit to themselves, their families and their schools , both primary and secondary. We will continue to watch their progress and achievements and hope to invite them back in the future to celebrate further success.
FAI Ladies Soccer

Bobbi Downer and Courtney Maguire are past pupils of Scoil Cholmcille SNS and have both represented Ireland at underage level in soccer in the past months. We are extremely proud of their achievements and will continue to monitor their sporting exploits.
On Tuesday 4th October, the school was visited by a past pupil, Richard Malone who will be touring with legendary rock band , Status Quo. He visited Mr. Russell’s class and spoke of how he had realised his dream in playing with a band he had been a fan of for 20 years. He also visited Ms. Henry’s room where his sister Abigail is in class. Richie committed to coming back to Scoil Cholmcille during Music week later in the year if available. He will hopefully team up with Mr. Russell who is a keen drummer and other past pupils to play some music for the pupils. Well done Richie, a great achievement with which Scoil Cholmcille is proud to be associated .
